The Natural Epicurean is devoted to consciously cooking a health-supportive, plant based diet. We embrace a holistic view of health that takes physical, energetic, mental, emotional, societal and environmental influences into consideration, and believe diet can bolster health on all these levels. We are committed to non-dogmatism, the belief that there is no one diet that can suit every person’s health needs, so instead of a strict regimen our goal is to offer a broad base of nutritious knowledge that allows flexibility.
The Natural Epicurean trains chefs in the theory and practice of meal planning and preparation in a wide variety of styles including macrobiotic, ayurvedic, classical vegetarian, vegan and raw foods. At the same time, we also train students to develop their skills so that they may transcend these categories and make sound dietary decisions by preparing a wide range of delicious, health-supportive foods. In particular, we emphasize the preparation of locally-available, seasonal natural foods to delight the senses and promote good health. Students are also trained in the business skills and ethics necessary to prepare them for a rewarding culinary careers, whether your goal is simply cooking healthier meals for you and your family with our public classes or you are seeking professional chef training with a healthy twist.
