After earning her culinary arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu, she was awarded a scholarship to study cuisine in Thailand. Upon returning to the Chicago area, she took a job as a chef on a small family-owned organic farm, where she created menus and oversaw production of themed dinners, as well as preserving the season’s bounty in jams, preserves and pickles to be sold at local farmer’s markets.

Being new to Austin, Alex is excited to discover the wonderful food ways of Central Texas. She has been featured in The New Green Grocer Cookbook, has done several live TV segments and continues to host cooking demos at food festivals. She currently contributes vegetarian recipes to Earth Eats as well as having a blog of her own where she chronicles all of her delicious adventures.
