1. How many months does the program last?
The classroom portion of the program lasts 6 months. Students have up to 6 months to complete the externship and assisting hours.

2. What are the hours of the program?
Classes are Monday - Thursday 8am -12pm and 1pm-4pm (AM class) OR 1-4pm and 5-9pm (PM class).

3. Do you have resources for helping a student find an externship?
Yes. We have a team in-house that will assist you in finding an externship that fits in line with your long-term goals. While students are ultimately responsible for securing an externship with the support of the school.

4. What are the assisting hours?
After you complete the classroom segment of the program, you will have the opportunity to assist for future programs and public classes. You will assist the instructors with preparation of food for current culinary classes, events, and public classes. This is a great way to re-learn and reinforce concepts and skills that you did not master while in the classroom portion of the program.

5. Do you accept FAFSA and government funding? Do you have payment plans?
No, we do not have Title IV funding. We do, however, have three payment plans and scholarships available. Click here to find out more.

6. Do you provide housing?
No, we do not. However, we do have in house support that will guide you in the right direction. We also have resources that we can we refer you to.

7. Do you accept international students?
Yes, we are able to accept international students; however we are not able to issue student visas. If obtaining a visa is not an issue for you, we encourage you to apply.

8. Do you have scholarships available?
Yes, we have 3 different $5,000 scholarships, including a macrobiotic scholarship, a diet and health scholarship and a scholarship for Yoga teachers who have 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training. We also have a full ride scholarship available for recent graduates from local Austin schools.

9. Can I do work trade?
No, we do not have work trade readily available.

10. Do you have a patisserie program?
No, we do not. However, there is a vegetarian baking and pastry portion of the program.

11. I see that you use dairy and eggs. I am a strict vegan, do I have to handle the products?
No, you do not need to handle or eat anything that you have an allergy, intolerance, or aversion towards. We do not require that you handle or eat eggs and dairy. We do require that you sit in on the classes and actively look for ways to learn and create alternatives. Our expectation is that students understand and embrace the realities of employment and the specific skills required of working culinary professionals.

12. Are the students allowed to pick and choose which classes they want to take? Or does each student take each class?
In order to give you a well rounded and balanced education, each student takes each class in our program.

13. Do you get a certificate or a diploma upon completion of the program?
You will receive a certificate of completion that states that you have completed 900 hours of training in vegan, vegetarian, macrobiotic, Ayurvedic and raw food.
